Anything in moderation. Really?

This is a touchy subject, so we won't get preachy with you. As it is not the purpose of this website to dictate what is acceptable behavior in the absolute, thereby sitting in judgment, we purposely left this page vague to convey important concepts instead of specifics. The section on faith is addressed similarly.

Concept 1: Too much of a good thing renders the good thing not so good anymore. (General enough?)

Concept 2: Any of a bad thing is too much.

Whatever builds up people (family, neighbors, even enemies) is a good thing. This includes physically (food, exercise, water...), mentally (education, discipline...), emotionally (love, quality time, kind words...), or spiritually (Scripture reading, prayer, worship...). And the point is? Refer to Concept 1. For anything that tears down any or all of the above, see Concept 2.

Because we are complete beings—body, soul, and spirit—when one area is affected, the others are affected; the health of one affects the health of the other. The implication is that if either of the concepts included on this page are violated, a negative result could occur, which ultimately affects our state of well-being.
