22 cents of every dollar in this country are spent on health care

Wow—every year we spend 1.4 trillion dollars (22% of our GNP) trying to get well after we get sick. The problem is that most Americans don't worry about their health until it is gone. You know the routine: office visit, prescription, drug store.

Pharmaceuticals are a multi-billion dollar "answer" that only addresses the symptoms and never touches the cause. This approach is the equivalent of finding your kitchen flooded and continually mopping up the water instead of turning off the sink!

To add to this, the vast majority of pharmaceuticals obtain an LD-50 rating, which is the level at which 50% of laboratory rats die when given the drug (a requirement to become a drug). Despite this problem, many Americans take three or more pharmaceutical drugs daily. Unfortunately, the complications associated with drugs is that being toxic (remember the LD-50), they create other problems. Have you read the potential side effects on your prescription labeling lately? The inevitable result has been premature death for millions of Americans, as properly prescribed drugs is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. While drugs are sometimes necessary, over-prescribing of these toxic substances is a serious problem.
